USTC Resumed Film Screening on Campus

    To enrich the leisure time of students and faculty and create a distinctive cultural atmosphere on campus, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) decided to resume the film screening. On the evening of August 8th, the first film watching activities were held at the Eastern Conference hall and the Western Conference hall at the same time, during which students watched the wandering Earth.

    Deputy party secretary of the university committee HE Chunkuan made a speech. He pointed out that as a time-honored hub of science, USTC had been a byword for hardworking all the while, in spite of which all-round education should also be placed premium on. Then, he shared his wonderful experiences of watching movies in his college life in USTC. During the ten-year break of film showings in USTC, the Eastern Conference hall ,lecture hall and the Western Conference hall were decorated and renovated, providing good conditions for film screening. In addition to encouraging students to participate and embrace their bountiful college life, he also made some constructive suggestions. In the end, he thanked all related departments for their elaborate organization. Warm and lasting applause broke out in the crowd.

    The USTC theatre will regularly open on weekends. Classic and latest movies will be showed at both the Eastern Conference Hall and the Western Conference hall. Related information will be posted on USTC’s home page and School League Committee’s WeChat official account.
