ZHENG Yongfei: TWAS New Fellow

    Prof.ZHENG Yongfei was announced to be new Fellows of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) at the TWAS 22nd General Meeting held in Trieste, Italy, on November 21.
    ZHENG is academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and director of the CAS Key Laboratory of Crust-Mantle Materials and Environment. His research interests are Isotope Geochemistry and Chemical Geodynamics.
    There were 8 Eight scientists from the Chinese mainland got the honor. They were rofs. ZHAO Guoping, WANG Hongyang, BAO Xinhe, XU Ningsheng, SUN Changpu, WANG Shouyang and LIN Wenjuan besides ZHENG.
    Scientific excellence is the only criterion for election of TWAS Members. Only scientists with the highest international standards and significant contributions to the advancement of science can be nominated. TWAS has announced an election of 45 new Members, including 42 Fellows and three Associate Fellows this year. The election of the eight scientists brings the total number of TWAS Members from the Chinese mainland to 161.
