A lot of difficulties have been overcome to found such a team: not only introducing the dragon boat training to the USTC international students is not easy, but managing a team whose members are of different countries and backgrounds is challenging. Finally, the international dragon boat team was officially formed in April this year and all members were international students.
In order to get ready for this competition, the team followed a strict training plan. With the help and guidance of some of the well-experienced USTC dragon boat coach SI Youzhi and athletes, the international team was able to enhance its strength and skills.

Sara Delgado, the captain of this international team, shared his feelings:” It was an exciting experience to be a member of the first international student dragon boat team of USTC. The international team is definitely determined on improving and developing more skills before the next competition.”
With collaboration and communication, international students were able to build a great team. This team will grow stronger and will be ready for more coming competitions in the future.
