More than 200 scientists and experts from across the world will gather in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province as the 2nd Mozi Forum is slated to be held here from April 13 to 16, local authorities said at a news briefing Tuesday.
Jointly initiated by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the municipal government, the forum features high-level academic reports and several sub-forums covering maths, physics, chemistry and interdisciplines.
The event will bring together 200-odd participants from the United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. They will discuss cutting-edge research, innovation-driven development as well as how to develop top universities.
In 2016, the USTC joined in launching the world’s first quantum satellite Mozi, named after a Chinese ancient philosopher and scientist.

On May 11, the Nature Publishing Group released Nature Publishing Index 2010 China, remarking “a dramatic rise in the quality of research being published by China”. University of Science and Technology of China is ranked 3rd of TOP 10 Institutions in Index 2010 China.
