On September 19-21th, the 2019 National Science Experiment Exhibition was held at the East Campus of the University of Science and Technology of China. There were 101 experimental exhibition teams from all over the country gathering together to present a wonderful show of science performances for the public.
The theme of the 2019 National Science Experiment Exhibition is to popularize the scientific knowledge, promote the scientific spirit, and advocate scientific methods to the society. Mobilization calls on national science and technology workers and people from all walks of life to actively participate in the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy, to accelerate the construction of a country with stronger science and technology power and continue to meet the people's growing needs for a better life and finally build a well-off society in an all-round way, and to build a socialist modernization and power to help realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The event was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Science Communication Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Science and Technology to Introduce the Foreign Intelligence Management Department and the University of Science and Technology of China also help to hold the exhibition. What’s more, the University of Science and Technology of China Education Foundation and Lenovo Group provided support.
In the first stage of the performance show on September 20th, each participating team performed the performance in three groups according to the draw results of the previous day. First, team members completed the routine experiments prescribed by the organizing committee of the competition to show their basic scientific literacy. Each group of players took the interesting scientific phenomena in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering, etc. as the starting point for daily activities in life, and performed creative experiments with their own creativity, which combined scientific knowledge with various art forms. There were re-arrangements of classical scientific experiments, and also popular visual displays of cutting-edge scientific research results. After exciting competition, there remained a total of 30 teams to participate in the second stage of the show.

The Principal of the University of Science and Technology of China, BAO Xinhe and other academicians, welcomed the arrival of all teams and wished them good results. BAO also hoped that the next scientific experiment will also be held at the University of Science and Technology and open to college students as well as the primary and middle school students.
On September 21st, the second stage of the show was more intense and exciting. It was divided into three parts: self-selected experiment, knowledge quiz and judge question.

The leading guests, judges and spectators were all amazed at the innovative ideas and rich imagination of the experiments, and praised their research skills. After the review, the event will eventually produce the first, second and third prizes, special prizes, excellent prizes and outstanding organization awards. Guangdong Science Center and Northwestern Polytechnical University won the Best Experimental Creativity Award for "I have a date with Science - Materials" and "From Lotus to Liquid Plasticine", Shanghai Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Heilongjiang Fire Rescue Corps won the best performance award respectively. Ten participating units such as Guangdong Science Center won the first prize, and 27 units including Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau won the Excellent Organization Award.

During the break of intense experimental competition, the choir of the University of Science and Technology of China and YUAN Lanfeng, a deputy researcher at USTC, also brought wonderful performances.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences, relevant departments of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and people from all walks of life attended the event. A number of central and local medias reported the event. And the online media of the China University of Science and Technology's WeChat public account, China Science Expo, China Science and Technology Network, Beijing Science and Technology Video Network, etc. followed to report and publicize the relevant videos. A large amount of netizens watched live online through the online platform. The activity provided a platform for national scientific and technological personnel to display scientific research capabilities and exchanges of learning. In order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of science popularization in China, there were a series of activities carried out lots of innovative and beneficial attempts and received wide attention from all walks of life. In the future, the activities will continue to be held.
