Award-winning works
SHENG Jiahui's work, The Belt and Road Initiative and Internationalization of Libraries which discusses the role of University Libraries in the promotion of national "one belt and one road" strategy. SHU Yukang's work A Future of Infinite Possibilities fully demonstrates the role of USTC library in promoting scientific research especially in future learning centers. With the novel ideas, rich materials and the fluent spoken English, these works fully show the spiritual style of enterprising and innovating of USTCers.
SHU Yukang said that the guidance and help provided by USTC library are indispensable for participating in the activity and achieving satisfactory results. Regarding how to improve her English level, SHENG Jiahui believes that English learning, especially oral expression cannot be separated from imitation. "I download videos on TED, print out the speeches and read them aloud, imitate the speaker's pronunciation and intonation, and over time the oral ability will improve. In addition, choosing English speeches with rich vocabulary and full emotions is also helpful to improve English vocabulary and writing ability.”
Learning English is a long-term process. The purpose is not to learn English, but to learn another way of thinking and to look at things from different perspectives. The library is not only rich in English learning electronic resources, but also provides a comfortable place for English learning. USTCers could combine learning with interest, which would help to promote the further development of Nationwide Reading in USTC.
