On September 12th, the public exhibition of Dunhuang Mural Art Treasure was held the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Party secretary SHU Gequn, standing member of the university committee and chief accountant HUANG Sufang, vice president of Dunhuang Academy China LUO Huaqing, director of Dunhuang Academy China and China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation YANG Xiuqing, president of Anhui museum HU Min, heads of relevant departments, students and faculty attended the opening ceremony. ZHU Jiping, deputy minister of publicity department and the director of News Center, hosted the ceremony.
On behalf of the school, SHU Gequn first expressed his gratitude to Dunhuang Academy China and China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation and Research Foundation for holding this wonderful exhibition in USTC. He pointed out that one month ago, general secretary XI Jinping visited Dunhuang, and stressed that Dunhuang’s culture was the result of long-term exchanges and integration between the Chinese and other civilizations. The exhibition is very important for riching campus culture and promoting students' humanity quality. He hoped that faulty and students in USTC can come to the museum, getting close to appreciate the extensive and profound Dunhuang art.
ang xiuqing pointed out that general secretary Xi Jinping's first stop in Gansu province was the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. Xi Jinping stressed that Dunhuang’s culture shows the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation, and only a confident civilization can tolerate, learn from and absorb the outstanding achievements of various civilizations while maintaining its own characteristics.The Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes display the beliefs and pursuits of people from different times, nationalities and regions, and are worthy of world heritage as well as the representative of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.USTC is a national key university focusing on science and high technology, which has cultivated a large number of high-level talents for the country. This cooperative exhibition with USTC is also the crystallization of deep integration of science and technology and cultural heritage, hoping to make joint efforts for the protection of Dunhuang cultural relics.
Later, Shu Gequn, LUO Huaqing, YANG Xiuqing and HU Min jointly unveiled the exhibition.
After the opening ceremony, the leaders, guests, faculty and students went to the first and second exhibition halls of the school museum for viewing.
he exhibition is sponsored by the Museum of University of Science and Technology of China, Dunhuang Academy China and China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation. It is on display in the first and second exhibition halls of the museum on the sixth floor of activity center in eastern campus. The exhibition will be on September 12th to October 12th.
