As a part of 60th anniversary celebration, construction work on USTC high-tech park began on Sept 1st. The ground breaking ceremony was chaired by CHANG Linyun, the Mayor of Hefei.

The 1537 mu park located in Hefei Hi-Tech Zone is expected to be composed of tech zone, affiliated schools and apartments. The first stage of project will cover 595 mu which contains R&D building, library, canteen, gym, etc. The first stage will be completed by 2020.

The park will focus on national quantum information lab and corresponding high tech and engineering. The aim of park is to enlarge advanced personnel training, to promote the transformation of technological achievements into real productive forces and to lead in the local innovation.
"USTC has made great progress in last two years, especially in comprehensive national science center, construction of national lab and major science facilities. We hope the new park is an opportunity to create model for innovation and USTC will achieve more progress in the future," said BAI Chunli, the President of Chinese Academy of Science(CAS). BAI also confirmed that CAS will fully support the USTC new era development.

SHU Gequn, the Secretary of USTC Party Committee express gratitude for Anhui Government and CAS's care and support.
"The park and CAS Key Laboratory of Quantum Information will be a complete system which includes cultivation of talents and technological innovation and technology transition," SHU said.
Upon completion, more institute related to information, computer and engineer will move in the park. Meanwhile, a new AI industrial park focusing on education, audio intelligence, intelligence chips,etc., will be built.
