From November 3 to 9, the 2021 online confirmation work of national entrance examination for postgraduate of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) was completed, with a total of 3,056 candidates confirmed online.

In recent years, USTC’s postgraduate-recruitment work has continuously enriched and strengthened its information management tools. Following the first online interview and the first "cloud summer camp", the first online confirmation of the candidates’ application information and materials also came to this year, which not only facilitates the candidates and improves the efficiency, but also helps to implement the Covid-19 prevention and control work.

The school attached great importance to the online confirmation, setting up an online confirmation leading team to coordinate the relevant work. Vice President YANG Jinlong and the leaders of Graduate School visited the staff at site, asking them to check carefully and answer relevant questions patiently so as to lay a good foundation for the later examination.

Under the guidance of the relevant documents of the Ministry of Education and Anhui Province, the Graduate School made a detailed work and emergency plan for the first online confirmation. A number of experienced professionals were selected to form a task force, and they were given comprehensive training. Also, the verifying procedures and requirements have been strictly standardized.

Based on scientific analysis of the data, candidates have been divided into the fresh graduate group, the former student group and the special situation group.  In addition, the test site has provided consultation services in order to comprehensively, timely and carefully solve problems candidates encountered in the process of confirmation.

According to statistics, there were 17,125 candidates applying for a master's degree in USTC in 2021, an increase of more than 2,000 people over last year. The number has reached a new record and nearly doubled the number of candidates in 2018.

As the recruiting unit and test site, USTC will enter the preparation stage for the test which is due on December 26 and 27, 2020, of setting questions and managing test work after the online confirmation.
