As parts of Culture and Art Festival 2020, JIA QI Dancing and New Year Symphony Concert and show were held on December 26th and 27th respectively, at The Great Hall in east campus of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
Jia Qi Dancing Show: classical and modern
A total of 1,300 students and teachers participated this visual feast on December 26th. It was organized by Dance Club and Street Dance Club.
The JIA QI dancing show is a fusion of classical and modern elements, which achieved a harmonious combination of folk dance, classic dance, modern dance, hip-hop, breaking, Jazz and other forms of dance.
All these performances showed the vigor and vitality, the concentration and tenacity of USTCers, and express their thought, feeling and pursuit of life.
New Year Symphony Concert: elegant and magnificent
The concert was divided into two parts. In the first half, songs of Chopin and Shostakovich, were performed in solo or by small groups. The elegant and cheerful melody fully displayed vigor and vitality, zeal and diligence of the younger generation.
In the second half, Beethoven’s C major, Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for strings in C major and Bach’s Orchestral in B minor were performed respectively. The passionate and magnificent melody expressed youth’s confidence and optimistic attitude. The concert ended with Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 i. And the audience broke into applause to express their gratitude and respect of the excellent performance.
