A celebration of the advent of 2021 with two music concerts during the New Year’s holiday.
On January 2th 2021, “Harmony and Sing” instrumental performance was held in the eastern campus.
Before the first piece, President BAO Xinhe greeted all the audience with a warm speech, thanked the clubs’ contributions to enrich the campus culture and hoped all teachers and students to strive for a brighter future.
The concert kicked off with a folk song Ceremonial Overture in lively rhythm, followed by Dam Dam, and other songs with distinctive traditional Chinese folk styles, which illustrated people’s hope for life and pursuit of love.

Besides, the award ceremony of 2020 for the excellent students both in character and academy, elected as good examples for other students, was held during the halftime of the concert.
The next evening, USTC chorus presented another concert, Savor the Feast for Ears in 2021, in the western campus. It consisted of five chapters.
The first two chapters, the Sounds of China and the Sounds of the World, showed the different rhythms and vocal styles respectively. In the third chapter, the men’s chorus brought the audience three songs, uncovering the brilliant glory of human nature.
Farewell Late Autumn Suites, as the fourth chapter, creating a vivid image for audience to embrace the nature in beautiful lyrics and rhythm, showed the outstanding and firm singing fundamental of the school’s chorus. And the last chapter ended up with high spirits to pay tribute to all common heroes in 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
These two concerts conveyed passion of music and life on campus and delivered the best wishes to a new year in 2021.
