As a new spring semester starts, the School of Earth and Space Sciences has again opened its science popularization hall on campus.
Located on the 10th floor of the Physics and Chemistry Building, the science popularization hall is a mixture of scientific education and daily relaxation.
The exhibition hall
Paying a visit to these unspoken things, which have witnessed billion years of history of the planet we’ve been dwelling in can be exciting. Glitter lovers will find home to minerals and rock specimens glistening under the overhead light. History and ancient creature fans can be satisfied with the paleontological fossils, including dinosaur fossils.

Stones on show
Plus, there is much innovation, with latest scientific achievements been seen. Rock specimens from the Antarctic tell you the story of the distant frozen world across the sea. Alongside with the exhibits, virtual reality (VR) has also been applied to demonstrate the marvelous scenery of plate movement, spaceflight and so on.
The stones have been waiting during the long and chilly winter holiday. Now that the spring and a new term give us a warm welcome back to campus, it might be a good time to go on a tour to the silent world of stones.
The exhibition is supported by the School of Earth and Space Sciences and Undergraduate Education Office. It is free of charge and open to the campus and the society.
