The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) released the Annual report on science communication of China (2021) and held a press on December 21, 2021. This report is compiled by the Research Center of Science Communication, and published by the China Science Publishing and Media Ltd (CSPM), all affiliated with CAS.

Working in collaboration with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and industry experts, researcher GUO Chuanjie, Coucil Chairman of the Research Center of Science Communication, academician BAO Xinhe and academician ZHOU Zhonghe jointly served as the editor-in-chief of this report, and QIU Chengli and TANG Shukun, director and deputy director of the Research Center of Science Communication respectively, are co-editors.
As the first annual report of the industry think-tank research series by the Research Center of Science Communication, the report is also a new achievement that comprehensively analyzes the field of China’s science communication in recent years. The extensive review of the scientific communication including China’s newspapers, journals, books, broadcasts, films, networks, popular science activities, popular science education, talent cultivation, theoretical researches invests the report with remarkable academic and practical value.
This report is generally considered a significant contribution to China’s science communication. There is also hope that the report will be published annually like the blue book on Chinese Academic and gradually form an academic brand at home and abroad.
