On May 27th, 2022, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and American Chemical Society (ACS) held a joint online forum on precision chemistry. Both parties announced a collaboration to establish Precision Chemistry, the first English academic journal on the titular discipline, with the goal of mutually promoting the development and international communication regarding this very subject.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. LIU Shiyong, the executive dean of the Chemistry and Materials School of USTC. Academician YANG Jinlong, also the vice principal of USTC, and Dr. Sarah Tegen, the senior vice president of CAS Publication Department, attended the forum and gave their opening speeches.
The forum focused on the core research subjects of precision chemistry, such as precise calculation, precise synthesis, precise assembling, and precise regulation. Respective research results and insights were shared by Academician Kendall N. Houk from University of California, Los Angeles, Academician TIAN He from East China University of Science and Technology, Prof. TIAN Zhongqun from Xiamen University, Academician ZHAO Dongyuan from Fudan University, Academician Erick M. Carreira from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Academician FENG Xiaoming from Sichuan University, Academician CHI Lifeng from Suzhou University, and Academician Harald Fuchs from University of Münster.
