On August 30, the first series of Science Communication and Science Education was officially published and released, and the electronic publication was released online simultaneously.
As a collection of academic papers reflecting the frontier theories and exploration practices of science communication and science education, the first episode of this journal contains 10 high-quality academic papers from experts and scholars in the relevant field across China. The content ranges from an overview of the development of science communication at home and abroad in the past 10 years, to the dilemma of science communication and the strategy of biodiversity science communication in the era of media convergence, and then to the understanding of the scientific spirit; from the development of Chinese citizens' scientific quality under the perspective of science education to the methods and strategies of STEM education for pre-school students; from the application of science fiction education in basic education to the exploration of visualization teaching model and other aspects and perspectives on science communication and science education.
The first series of Science Communication and Science Education was carefully compiled by more than 30 experts and scholars over 12 months.

The Executive Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Prof. GUO Chuanjie from USTC, expresses his congratulations and expectations for the future development of the journal in the preface of the first episode. With great enthusiasm for the journal, he sincerely invites colleagues from the science communication and science education field to contribute their insights and academic achievements to jointly make Science Communication and Science Education a better journal. He points out that amid the great change that has not happened in a century, the prospects of many fields remain uncertain. It is clear, however, that science and technology will develop rapidly. With the progress of science and technology, never before have two related fields like science communication and science education been as widely recognized by society for their importance as they are today. These two fields, which are also decisive factors behind the quality and quantity of science and technology talents, will certainly play a fundamental and leading role in the overall development of science and technology and education. He mentions, the issuance of the journal aims to promote the research and discovery of science communication and science education in the frontiers of science, to promote academic exchanges and discipline development, and to make it better serve the needs of improving citizens' scientific quality, promoting the science education system and building an innovative country.
