On Dec. 5th, 12·5 Volunteer Carnival was held in the East Square to celebrate the 34th international volunteer day and show the bright and beautiful demeanor of young USTC volunteers.

Combining with its own characteristics, the Special Education Service Group of Fangcao club elaborately designed interactive games such as on-site teaching of sign language and trial of braille, through which students were encouraged to step into the world of the deaf and the blind. Campus Service Group focused on the display of campus tour guide volunteer work through the Campus Map Puzzle, Campus Attractions Q&A and other contents. The Worry Tree made by Daystar Service Group attracted the attention of many students, who were happy to come to help the students out from the "help one by one" daystar navigation activities. They wrote pieces of advice conveying the sincerest warmth in the winter.

The Library Volunteer Service Group showed the characteristics of their daily library volunteer service in the form of knowledge competition. The questions and answers prepared by the Alumni Volunteer Service Group, such as HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE HISTORY OF USTC and HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE ALUMNI, let the participants know more about the alumni stories. The “Time Travel” game of the Youth Association of School of Information Science and Technology made students realize the inconvenience in the life of the elderly, and guided them to care for and love the elderly more.

In addition to the on-site interactive experience, the Volunteer Carnival also introduced in detail the volunteer service system of USTC and the characteristic activities of various departments through the display, which attracted many teachers and students to stop and watch.

More than 400 people took part in the 12•5 Volunteer Carnival. Taking the International Volunteer Day as an opportunity, the Volunteer Carnival not only showcased the elegant demeanor of young volunteers, but also further enhanced the campus volunteer service atmosphere and enhanced the sense of honor and mission of our volunteers.
