From Oct. 12th to 15th, the Fifth China College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at Zhejiang University.

After fierce competition, USTCers’ teams won 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 copper medal from more than 1.09 million teams of 4,000 different universities, creating the best record in history. Artificial Intelligence ECG doctor from FU Zhaoji’s team, Interactive Holographic Air Image from HAN Dong’s team won the gold medals. Ultra Precision and High Precision Displacement Detection Project of LI Weizu’s team won the silver medal, and Airmap: the First “Intelligent Environment "Air Quality Real-time Monitoring and Prediction System of ZHAO Fei’s team won the copper medal.

The competition is advocated by Premier LI Keqiang, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission and other thirteen ministries. With the theme of "Dare to fly youth dream, dare to build a new era", the competition has attracted 4.57 million college students and 1.09 million teams from 124 countries/regions and 4093 universities. It is the grand meeting of world college students in innovation and entrepreneurship.

This competition is also a test of innovation and entrepreneurship education in USTC. During the preparation period, the University League Committee held many meetings and training rounds, which were highly valued and strongly supported by the University leaders and relevant departments. The Committee also invited experts to provide guidance to all teams. The outstanding achievements are the result of the joint efforts of all teachers and students. The Committee will keep doing a good job in innovation and entrepreneurship education to enhance students' innovation spirit, entrepreneurship awareness and ability, and contribute to the double first-class construction and talent training in USTC.
