Launched at 10:30 a.m. on June 24th, in the hall of the old library in the east campus, was the opening ceremony of the exhibition tour entitled “A Celebration of Past and Future and a Feast of Calligraphy and Painting”. University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is the first stop of the tour.

On behalf of USTC, SHU Gequn, Secretary of the Party, expressed heartfelt congratulations. “As the mainstay of ‘Double First-Class’ initiative,” he said, “not only should the C9 League make remarkable achievements in talent training and scientific research, but we are also supposed to set the pace of campus cultural building”. He also mentioned the dense art atmosphere in USTC. Among all famous calligraphers and painters, our former principal GUO Moruo is a household name.
The mobile exhibition is aimed at celebrating the 70th anniversary of the foundation of PRC, promoting campus culture and boosting the art communication among the C9 League. Proposed by the labour union of Xi’an Jiaotong University, the exhibition tour gathers steam by virtue of the active participation of all other labour unions of the C9 League. Their wholehearted support ranges from soliciting out-standing art works to organizing the exhibition. Selected masterpieces will travel around the campus of C9 League, with a one-week rest in each school. Since the preparation, over 90 works have been collected in total, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, engravings, watercolors, calligraphy, etc. Among them, nine comes from our school.
Hopefully the activity will further strengthen the cultural bonds among the C9 League and breathe new life into our campus culture.
The exhibits opens to public from June 24th to June 28th in USTC.
