On the morning of March 31st, the third traditional culture month——“Tracing the Wind” was opened. Teachers, students and citizens who came to see the flowers gathered at the north gate and Sakura avenue of the East Campus witnessing the opening ceremony and participating in the student association activities.

At the opening ceremony, the attractive program “Dreamcatcher” brought by the Campus Harmonica Association led us into the retrospect of the great rejuvenation of Chinese history. Then the Campus Folk Orchestra showed the flute solo named “Village Scenery” with fair-sounding melody and poetic imagery. Next, the audience burst into peals of laughter for the clapper talk performed by Campus Cross Talk Club. With no doubt that the dragon dance performance was the climax of ceremony. The performance won loud cheers and rounds of applause. What’s more, there were a series of interactive sessions organized by different student associations, such as guessing riddles, making postcards and bookmarks, practicing calligraphy, trying the ancient makeup and taking beautiful pictures. The whole opening ceremony is a combination of classical culture and modern life and visitors were immersed in a refreshing feast of traditional culture.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China, commemorate the 100th anniversary of the May 4th Movement and further promote the spirit of the times, our school officially launched a flash video of "Me and My Motherland" at the opening ceremony of “Tracing the Wind”. Participants in the recording were composed of top 10 singers from K-star singing contest, kindergarten teachers affiliated to USTC, faculty choirs, traditional cultural associations and citizens who came to appreciate Sakura. During the shooting process, all the participants expressed their best wishes to the motherland with the fullest enthusiasm. The strong patriotism stirred in everyone's hearts.

During the next month, the activities of third “Tracing the Wind” traditional culture month will be launched one after another. The ceremony brings us a brand-new experience of traditional culture meanwhile contributes to the inheritance of excellent traditional culture and the implementation of the strategy of cultural power.
