On October 27th, the Silicon Valley Innovator Conference of USTC and the 60th anniversary of the founding of USTC were held at Silicon Valley. More than 200 alumni gathered together to celebrate the university’s 60th anniversary and discuss the cutting-edge technology and innovation. SHU Gequn, the party secretary of USTC, was invited to attend the event. He introduced USTC alumni to the recent development of school and activities of the 60th anniversary of USTC. This conference was hosted by USTC Initiative Foundation and Silicon Valley Volunteer Preparatory Committee.
Party secretary SHU made a keynote report to the alumni about the theme of “Dare to innovate, dare to surpass, strive for first-class”. Regarding the concerns about alma mater from alumni, he responded to each alumnus and chatted amiably with everyone. And he sent the care and blessings from alma mater to the overseas alumni of USTC.
Professor CUI Yi (9312), department of materials science from Stanford University, and LIANG Sheng (83 SCGY), the CEO of Ranch Labs presented speeches in the Silicon Valley Innovator Conference. LUO Liqun (81 SCGY), professor of Biology from Stanford University, Academician of the American Academy of Sciences, remarked in the conference and congratulated alma mater on its 60th birthday and the 40th anniversary of the School of the Gifted Young.
On October 28th, party secretary SHU had a discussion with representatives of the Silicon Valley Alumni Association. He said that the construction and development of USTC are inseparable from the care of the alumni. Also, the activities of the 60th anniversary of USTC were strongly supported by alumni from all walks of life. As the representative of the school, party secretary SHU conveyed the cordial greetings to the alumni of the Silicon Valley Alumni Association, and wish everyone good health and work well. He hoped everyone will return to visit alma mater frequently!
