On May 10, “Hello! Speech Age” Training Camp started in Room 121, NO.3 Teaching Building of USTC west campus. This training camp was hosted by National Engineering Laboratory for Speech and Language Information Processing.
The camp was aimed to help students improve their software development skills and understand the advanced technology about Speech Search.
At the beginning of the training camp, HU Yu, deputy executive director of the lab, vice-president of Anhui USTC iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., shared the development of intelligent speech interaction technology with students. He said that with the advent of the mobile Internet era, human-computer interface was undergoing a major change, and speech interaction would be one of the most important ways of human-computer interaction in the future.
In order to give the students a more in-depth understanding of intelligent speech technology, PAN Qinghua, senior researcher of USTC iFLYTEK research institute, gave the students a general introduction of intelligent speech technology by a video.
“We designed two parts questions of this camp. The first part is warm-up, and the second part is the key item.” KONG Li, organizer of this training camp. In the end of this training camp, WANG Rui, senior software engineer of USTC iFLYTEK, announced the first part questions. They were about audio frequency distinguish and data package and retrieval. Students participating in this camp could choose one of them and submit results on time.
“Hello! Speech Age” Training Camp will last for two weeks, and during the two weeks the organizer will arrange some professionals to give participating students some advice and guidance. This training camp will also give some awards to the winners.
