Headed by Prof. Gyung-Su Lee from National Fusion Research Institute (NFRI), the Korea Science Delegation visited School of Nuclear Science and Technology (SNST) of USTC on 6 June. Prof. WAN YuanXi, on behalf of USTC-SNST, gave a warm welcome to them.

Prof. Gyung-Su Lee, gave a talk about the design of demonstration reactor, K-DEMO, the R&D and the fusion international cooperation of Korea. Firstly, he introduced the roadmap of Korea fusion development programme and the national budgetary and legislative support to fusion energy development. He emphasized the importance of ITER project to the fusion energy development of each member countries. And Korea delegation also attached great importance to the conceptual design of China Fusion Engineering Testing Reactor (CFETR).

After that, Prof. WAN YuanXi gave a general introduction of USTC-SNST、 National Integration Design Group for Magnetic Confinement Fusion Reactor and the concept design of CFETR to the Korea delegation. He also gave outlook for the friendly cooperation in the near future.
After his presentation, with regard to fusion development plan, both parties conducted a series of discussion.
"Fusion is the way to the future, as the big challenge of it, we need the international cooperation with the friends all over the world”, said Prof. Gyung-Su Lee at the end of this visit, “I do hope that we can enhance our cooperation in the near future.”
