USTC has a steady increase of SCI papers and beat the other universities of China in “High Impact” papers, according to the 2012 statistical data of Chinese S&T papers released by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China on Sep 27th. It is the tenth year that USTC got the highest citations per paper among the C9 universities in China.

In 2012, USTC has a total number of 1819 papers indexed by SCI, 156 papers more than in 2011. Among the indexed papers, 692 papers have been reputed as well-cited papers that have higher citations than other national level within a certain discipline, accounting for 38%. It is the highest rate among the C9 universities in China. It is worth noting that the paper “Experimental demonstration of topological error correction” published in Nature 2012 by Prof. PAN Jianwei from USTC has been selected as the most influential international academic paper of China for 2012.

Altogether, USTC has a total of 14, 898 papers indexed by SCI in the past decade (from 2003 to 2012) and the citations per paper are 10.08, outshining other universities in the respect.
