On September 20, 2022, the inauguration ceremony of the Arts Education Center of the University of Science and technology of China (USTC) was held at the central campus. Party secretary SHU Gequn, president BAO Xinhe, and other school leaders, deans, faculty representatives, volunteers and USTC Chorus members attended the ceremony.

The ceremony began with a heartfelt speech by BAO Xinhe. He pointed out that the center was of special meaning as today also marked the 64th anniversary of the founding of our university, just as what Mr. GUO Moruo, the first president of USTC, once proposed, music and art were supposed to flow in our campus to enrich our studying here.

BAO continued by spurring students in USTC not only to stay tenacious in conquering difficulties in science and technology but also seek nourishment from arts to better serve our scientific researches, laying a solid foundation of a warm atmosphere that embraces education for all-around development.
BAO also noted that the establishment of the USTC Arts Education Center was of significance to enhance aesthetic education in the new era, and it would be the very cradle of the aesthetic education that the university was seeking for to implement its education system that focused on essential-qualities-oriented schooling, and to breed students with outstanding know-how, respectful integrity, lofty aesthetics and extraordinary cultural literacy.

Then Prof. SHU and President BAO jointly unveiled the plaque for USTC Arts Education Center, with SHU announcing its formal inauguration.

After the ceremony, school leaders, teachers and students at present toured the center. The center is a multi-story building, with the third covered an exhibition hall, an art classroom, public reading areas and executive spaces. The fourth floor included a dance room, a music room, a multifunctional hall and a piano room.
It was worth mentioning that a collection of outstanding works from Oil Painting Techniques in Spring 2022 was on display in the exhibition hall.
All participants moved to the music room and enjoyed a mini concert offered by representatives from various schools and the school choir there.

At last, the tour was ended with the chorus of The Eternal East Wind, the anthem of USTC, for the best wish for USTC.
