USTC Attends the 4th China-France-Africa Forum on Higher Education

On November 30, the 4th China-France-Africa Forum on Higher Education was held at Wuhan University (WHU). TIAN Xuejun, China’s Vice Minister of Education, Rahamtalla M. Osman, Permanent Representative of the African Union in China, and HAN Jin, secretary of the WHU Party Committee, and DU Jiangfeng, deputy principal of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) attended the forum.

The Forum was initiated by Wuhan University, aiming to establish a shared community of higher education among China, France and African countries through exchanging experiences on international cooperation annually. This year, the forum was themed on“Jointly Build a Shared Community of Sino-French-African Higher Education in the New Era”, with 25 universities from the three regions participating in the forum.

DU delivered a speech at the section of Principals’ Remarks, in which he pointed out that USTC has been cherishing its founding mission of creating a global university and educating talents all over the word and has been exploring a path featuring Chinese characteristics and USTC styles. Up to now, a total of 236 students from France and African countries have matriculated in USTC.
