On May 28th, 2024, a delegation led by President Tom Veldkamp from the University of Twente visited the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). President of USTC, BAO Xinhe and other representatives warmly welcomed the delegation and engaged in a friendly discussion with the guests.
The University of Twente, established in 1961, is a leading research university in the Netherlands, and is well-known for its expertise in nanotechnology, integrated circuit design, and chemical engineering.

President BAO highlighted the strong cooperation between the two universities and expressed hopes to deepen this partnership. President Veldkamp thanked USTC and expressed his eagerness to continue collaboration.

The delegation toured various USTC facilities, including the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, University History Museum, School of Gifted Young and the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. An alumni exchange event was also held at USTC 1958 coffee shop, fostering enthusiastic interactions among faculty, staff and students.
