On June 23th, the Sixth Nano Research Award ceremony was held during the 14th Sino-American Chinese Nano Forum. The award went to two international leaders in nanotechnology, academician BAO Xinhe, president of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and fellow of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, and academician Omar M. Yaghi, fellow of the University of California, Berkeley (UCB).

During the ceremony, editor of “Nano Research”, professor DAI Hongjie and professor LI Yadong, deputy editor, professor LIU Jie, professor PENG Xiaogang, professor DUAN Xiangfeng, professor GU Zhen awarded medals to two winners. Dr. LI Yong, the party secretary and chairman of Tsinghua University Press, and Ms. LI Xian, the director of journal publishing in the region of Greater China of Springer-Nature publishing group, awarded the certificate to Dr. BAO Xinhe and Dr. Omar M. Yaghi. Professor BAO Xinhe and professor Omar M. Yaghi attended ceremony and addressed speeches.

The editorial board of “Nano Research (English version)”, Tsinghua University Press and Springer Press jointly established the international Nano Research award in 2013, which aims to commend outstanding scientists who have made significant contributions to the field of nano research and promoted the development of nanotechnology. The award is held annually, with candidates from all over the world nominated by members of the editorial board of “Nano Research (English version)”. The previous five winners are: professor Charles M. Lieber from Harvard University (2014), professor Paul Alivisatos from the UCB (2015), professor YANG Peidong from the UCB (2016), professor XIE Yi from USTC (2017), professor JIANG Lei from institute of Physical and Chemical Technology, CAS(2018), and professor Chad A. Mirkin from Northwestern University (2018).
